Restore individual items after stsadm restore

After restoring a Sharepoint site to a different site on the same server using
the stsadm restore command, how can I move individual items (other than document
and images) from the restored site to the original site? With documents and
images, I can easily access the site through a web folder interface, but what
about announcements, tasks, links, etc.?
