How to replaceserver/workplace name?

Asked By: Palash    Date: Mar 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 820

some of the web parts I have downloaded want me to run a script from
the command prompt. I get the whole command prompt thing - is what
I don't get is were do I place the vbscript so when I run the
command it will work.

ex:
1. From Command Prompt, execute the script:
cscript CreateEvents.vbs http://<server_name>/<workspace_name>
Ensure that you substitute your server name and workspace name as
appropriate.

I replaced my server/workplace name and nothing happens because it
cannot find CreateEvents.vbs - any help?

You almost always want to be in the directory of the webpart itself -- as in
where you downloaded  it. For example, if you download the undelete web
part, stick it in some web  part storage locker with all the other ones with
one folder per web part. For example, I use
f:\install\servers\sharepoint\downloaded\webparts. "undelete" is a folder
inside of there. I've collected 30 or so web parts  and modified a few.

Then, you bring up the command  prompt and CD to that folder and run
undelete's supplied scripts inside the undelete directory. Many times the
supporting scripts require files in it's own directory or subdirectories.
