Replace the test for showing !new image

Asked By: Rickie Date: May 06 Category: Sharepoint Views: 1449

My client wants to have the !New gif show on a document in a document
libary until a user clicks on it. The code to show the image is found
in the BASE.xml (see below)

w.gif" alt="

I think I can replace the IfNew test with something else. Any
suggestions or examples?

The problem here is that SharePoint doesn't really do anything to a list
item when a user clicks on it. You'd have to create a custom hyperlink that
effects some sort of change to the item, and then you can check that field
in lieu of the IfNew condition (or perhaps just change the definition of
IfNew so you don't get stuck riding the CAML).

Just thinking out loud (in print?) here...
