There are two reasons I have avoided "Shared Documents" as the name
for my libraries: First, they will be indistinguishable from each
other when mapped drives are viewed in Explorer. Second, spaces in URL's make it more
difficult for our end-users to email links around as they sometimes
break at the spaces (at some point between copying the escaped URL
and viewing the thing in another client)
Due to the second reason, renaming the libraries was not sufficient
(since the URL doesn't actually change) so I have been deleting them
and creating new ones. Yesterday I learned that the "Upload Document"
link that appears under the Actions menu is tied to the original
library, and once this is deleted there is no way to make this link
work again.
Does anyone have suggestions for fixing this? I suppose I could do a
search in the content DB for the id that is being used and replace it
with the new library, but I'm hoping there is another way of dealing
with this. (Ideally there would be a site-level "default library"
option within admin screens)
