Removing WebParts from Home

The MSI Build and Deployment Guide, under Configure the Home Page for
the Division Server, states that the Announcement , News and Quick Links
web parts should be removed.Logged on as a local admin and workspace
coordinator does not allow the removable of the web parts. Anyone else
able to remove these from the home page?

If you are unable to remove  them because the checkbox is greyed out then: Open
the webpart | click on "Show Advanced Settings" | check the box "Allow users to
remove this web  Part from their dashboard" | Click Save and you will notice the
grey box is now enabled. Uncheck it to remove.
