Removing non-existent sites from users' MySite

Asked By: Dora Blevins         Date: Aug 29, 2009      Category: MOSS      Views: 259

On my users' MySite pages, some of them have references to sites that
no longer exist. This information was populated by MOSS rather than
by the user. It may be a remnant of some older work, but I am unable to
remove these links. How would I go about accomplishing this?

Are these SharePoint sites, or external links? Where are these links  in the
page?

They are now non-existent sharepoint sites.

These links  may be coming from your Shared Services Provider, Personalization
Site Links. Check there and delete the ones that no longer  apply.

Are the links  showing in their My Links web part, in which case they can simply
delete them themselves. Are they appearing in the My SharePoint Sites? Where are
these links showing up in the My Site?
