Why do you need to delete it. Why not just remove  it from the view by goin
to the Modiufy setting and columns for the List/Document Library in
question and edit the view and uncheck the columns that you don't want to

Well i dont want to delete the column  but
all i want is to remove  the hyperlink  and leave only the name. Because
the hyperlink leads to the relevant user  information and i want to
limit that action by only displaying the created  by user's name. Hope
this sounds clear....

OK, here is your answer:
1. Create a new column called [Item Created by] as "Single line of text"
2. Create a workflow in sharepoint designer:
a. Select action: set field to value
field = [Item Created by] and
value = Current Item:Created by
so it reads:
Set Item Created by to Current Item:Created by
b. Set your workflow to start automatically when an item is created.
3. Save and publish workflow.
4. In the sharepoint view, replace the column [Created by] with the [Item Created by]
5. Done, add a file to your document library, after uploaded, the workflow will run and automatically update the new column with the value of [Created by] and will display the name without the hyperlink since is text.
