Reminder Emails -Workflow-Repeated

i have few workflows initiated in the SharePoint, those workflows has been
already completed. Even now its sending reminder email. Could any one let me
know how to stop the trigerring reminder emails.

Create Yes/No column and set to Yes when email  is sent. Then check at the very
beginning. If ReminderSent=Yes then stop.

Is it a known issue with SharePoint ? I have also experinced this before.

I'm willing to believe it is a workflow that is set to run when an item is
added and when an item is updated. If you update any columns at the end of the
workflow it will fire the workflow again. Either separate the ˜added and
˜updated workflows  or add a check to ensure the workflow won't run again.

I got this issue with workflow associated with Item Updated only. If you update
any item in a workflow that is activated on "Item update", should not run again
because you can never have multiple instances of same workflow running on same
item. It always raises a COM exception.

something to check in workflow are:

1) Do you have CC and BCC in email  ? some people have reported emails  repeating
when CC and BCC are specified.
2) Are you publishing a major version i.e approving the document in Item
Updated workflow ?
3) Do you have delay or pause activities ?
