Regarding Sharepoint Application Design

I have requirement to create sales management site on which i have to
manage many subsites according to clients, and for each client i
would like to manage Sales, Product, Users, UsersGroup, Custom Role,
Custom Previlages.

Few more constraints are there..
1) Each Client can have child clients
Each Client/Child Client can have multiple company or company
employess. UI should support tree structure.

2) All client subsite users are not AD users.

3) All product is also having parent product/child product relation

4) Sales preson should able to enter his sales/ import sales detail
to Sharepoint site but he could able to access his sales records only.

Is it possible to handle above all data through custom sharepoint
list object in WSS 3.0.

Or its better to have separate SQL Server to handle above complex
object related records and only webpart can fetch detail from
seperate SQL Server and all data add/del/update would be done through
custom pages on sharepoint server.

Please suggest which option would be better for application
