Recreating the "My SharePoint Sites" list?

Asked By: Ruchir    Date: Feb 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1938

Is there a way to recreate the My Links > My SharePoint Sites list?
This seems to be linked to a timer job, but there's no apparent way to
tell the system to create the menu from scratch and include all sites
a user has permissions to.

I had to use my account for testing purposes a month or two ago which
screwed up my account permissions (since fixed). However, the "My
SharePoint Sites" menu hasn't listed all the sites I belong to since.

It's not really a list, and it's built dynamically based on you being
added to the "Members" group on each site.

The problem being that it's missing certain sites  that I'm definitely
a member of. Do I have to delete/readd myself for it to properly
recognize the site membership?

I seem to remember you needing to be added individually to the site (not
as part of an AD group) - is that possibly the problem?

Let me clarify - these are sites  I was added as a member to before my
account was used for test purposes, which obliterated the menu list  of
sites (and also screwed around with some other account  properties, but
that's another story). Thus, I was already in the member list when my
account was fixed, but fixing it didn't restore the previously
populated menu  information. I could just have someone delete/re-add
me, but I was wondering if there was a way to force the list of sites
to regenerate instead of having to do the whole "remove me then add
me" dance with co-workers :)

As a side note, I'm added individually to all my sites - I'm not part
of any relevant AD groups in this case.
