Recovering deleted data

I recover a deleted document out of sharepoint? If it is gone
where does it go? What about a recycle bin?

Keep me posted if you find out more, but I'm pretty sure its just GONE.
I know someone was working on a recycle-bin, but last I heard it wasn't
finished yet.

There is no built-in way to recover  a deleted  item. Here is an
inexpensive solution that we are using and may work for you. We are
using a program called WebDrive http://www.webdrive.com which allows
us to map a web folder which sharepoint  libraries are made up of, as
a network drive. We can then use a backup utility to backup and
restore the files as you would any document. It is an inexpensive
solution until Microsoft comes out with a built in solution.

There is no built in recycle  bin. There are 3rd party options, but this won't
