Records Center

We are looking to use the Records Center in MOSS 2007 as our official
records repository? Is anyone else doing this? If so, do you have
everything as one web application or did you segregate the Records
Center (separate web application) and just hook it to the regular
portal. What are the best practices for the Records Center.

We are trying to use this. On a very small scale however. For me it
will be extremely simple. Send to records  will be a menu item from every
library in the farm. Records will be routed by content type.

When I get smarter I plan to create a custom activity for workflow in
SharePoint designer that can send any record using
_vti_bin/officialfile.asmx.

For now I have workflow send an email with the link

https://[app]/[path]/[collection]/[site]/_layouts/SendToOfficialFile.asp
