Check out Bamboo Solutions.

Corasworks has some neat stuff, but some of their stuff has a severe negative
impact on performance.

I haven't used it myself, but I want to - awaiting management funding to
purchase the Rollup List and the Calendar web parts to create a Rollup calendar.

I do know some people who have used it and they all like it. I know someone who
purchased their entire suite and likes it.

I would recommend searching other people's blogs and comments about it so you
can determine if the product can meet your needs.

I do know that if you have a specific need for just one or two of their web
parts, you can just purchase them. This could save you some money.

DeliverPoint is a good product, for managing permissions. SharePoint's
built-in permissions management is a joke.

I would not openly purchase software for your SharePoint environment
unless you're looking for some extended functionality (then I'd ask you
what type of functionality do you want/need). Then I'd place needs above

I have been using CorasWorks (www.corasworks.com) for a few years and really
like it's capabilities. It also has a lot of out-of-the-box Solutions and
Blueprint which you can adapt to your situations. It is also a Microsoft Gold
Partner and MS uses some of it's capabilities in it's SharePoint releases.

Some of it's capabilities:

Rollups: Allows users to gather information from other sites  and display the
info in 1 location. Also has recursive site  searches (which will degrade
performance if not well thought out). Also allows storing all data on 1 central
site, and then retrieving selective data at other sites based on that site's
needs, etc.

EMail Notifications: Can send email to addresses stored in an item, or even send
to teams based on a value. e.g., send trouble tickets to correct team based on
the Type of issue. Very customizable.

Site Navigation: Nice web parts. Can show all sub-sites of a site. Vertical and
horizontal cascading menus. Global Menus.

Actions: Allows things like on an add or update adding/updating an item to
another list, send email, chain actions together to do more than one Action,

Use JavaScript: Can use basic JavaScript in .aspx files to create custom
DashBoards and other displays (e.g., color-code data from a item based on a
value in that item for, say, status reports, build a graphical representation of
a project with completed tasks grayed out and milestones trafic lighted, etc.).
You can also dynamically build a SharePoint page based on a parameter (e.g., use
different display values based on the version number passed in). You can build
dynamic menus based on stored values in a list. Very versatile, very
customizable and no additional training is necessary.
