Reading webservices from various disconnected portals

We have been using a custom webpart to read news from one portal to another (on different servers in different regions) using areaservice. Great utility……shame that it will only read webservices in different timezones if your server has its own time settings set to a US timezone…CET to CET works , CET to GMT does not, CST to anything seems to work.

Strange but true….apparently this is a known issue, anyone else seen anything like it ?

I did not get any feedback on this but if anyone has had problems running areaservice.asmx across different timezones, SP1 solves this
