Need to Re-Start Server

Asked By: Sydney    Date: Feb 06    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 661

I have created some new users, and assign them with Reader / Author roles to
a workspace. But the users were not able to login successfully until I
re-started the Sharepoint server machine. Is this the expected behaviour? Or
is that a solution out there?

Actually after you add new users  you have to restart the SPS
Service, there is no need to restart the whole server.

Not necessarily, just a restart of the SharePoint service does not work, you
have to restart all of the IIS services, and even then sometimes this does
not work. A reboot works best.

Actually, i used to encounter the same problems. But someone told me
that if you create groups and then add in the new users  according to
your security requirements (reader, author  etc) then there is no need
to reboot the system.
