Random Attachments to List items

Asked By: Elliot    Date: Apr 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1014

I have a series of custom lists called Articles that I use throughout my
portal to track knowledge base items. Items in an Articles list consist
basically of a title and a body. I made this into a template and began
using it in dozens of portal areas.

I've noticed some very bizarre behavior lately. If I attach a file to an
article, when I come back and view the article, I sometimes find that
another file has mysteriously attached itself to the article.

I've noticed a few patterns, and I am hoping someone can shed some light
onto this.

1) The file that has mysteriously attached itself is also attached to
another article appearing in another Articles list in another area on
the same portal.
2) The ID of the new article always seems to be the same as the ID of
the article in the other list that the tag-along attachment was
originally attached to.

I haven't seen this. Perhaps it is some kind of bug in SPS displaying
contents across bucket webs. If I get a chance, I'll attempt to
recreate.
