Is there a limit to the number of links that the left Quick Launch bar can contain on a publishing site? Is this set somewhere and can it be increased? Is there a better way to display the links to many team collaboration sites?

We are an oil rig service company and we have a publishing site serving as a landing page for our Operations staff, but then each rig has their own team collaboration site (non-publishing) where they store their own documents, keep calendars of activities, etc. Note that we use a publishing site because we work in two languages (English and Spanish) and have people accessing the site from both English based and Spanish based computers. To date, we have 78 team collaboration sites, but the left quick launch bar seems to only be able to display 50 of those sites under the Sites heading.

Note that I have tried the tree view which displays all the links to the collaboration sites, but that takes away the other navigation links we use at the homepage to access other parts of our site collection.
