The "Items 1 to 50 Next" can be moved to left  hand side:
Here is the steps :

1. Open a Document Library / list  where paging is enabled.
2. Open the page  in FrontPage 2003 by using the "Edit" button in the IE toolbar.
3. Select the Design mode tab in FrontPage 2003.
4. Right click on the Document Library / List web part and choose the "Convert
to XSLT Data View" option.
5. Click "Save" and exit form FrontPage 2003.
6. Navigate to the Document Library or List on the IE browser / Refresh the
opened Document Library or List on the IE browser.
7. [(Items 1 to n) Next] can be seen on the bottom left region of the page.
8. If Next is clicked [Reset | Previous (Items n to n) Next] is seen.
9. The "Reset" link  will set the page index to the first page.
