Publishing Excel 2003 Workbook in MOSS 2007

Asked By: Robin    Date: Oct 18    Category: MOSS    Views: 1356

I am new to sharepoint and I should publish an Excel 2003 workbook that
contains links to Reuters data-feeds and macros. It should be published
so that it is visible to internet and when it is opened for viewing it
should take a parameter value to insert in one cell. I have tried to
explore different scenarios in documents but nothing seems to be quite
applicable to my situation. Does anyone know how this would best
achieved? I have Visual Studio 2005.

I cannot speak to your exact situation, but one that is perhaps similar.

We have an excel  2003 workbook  full of macros and NO links to the outside
world. We publish it in MOSS 2007, and want our corporate users to be able to
open it and exercise its macros. If the user has a pure Office 2003 or pure
Office 2007 setup, it works fine. However, some of our users have a PC with
Office 2003 BUT with some 2007 components installed. This crashes & burns the
IE browser.
