Publishing controls on a layout page

  Asked By: Kavisha    Date: May 22    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2889

On defaultlayout.aspx there are two publishing controls, one for an
image and another for rich text.
In the code, they look like this:
<PublishingWebControls:RichImageField id="ImageField"
FieldName="PublishingPageImage" runat="server"/>
<PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField id="Content"
FieldName="PublishingPageContent" runat="server"/>

Is it possible to have multiple of each of these controls on a layout
I have tried this (and changed the field id of the second one)and the
rich text content gets copied over to the second rich text box.
Can someone please give me some guidance?
In case someone asks, this is in lieu of using a content editor web

To do this you need to create a new content  type that has two columns with a
RichTextField type and two columns with Image field  type. Then create a new
layout page  tied to that content type. That will give  you two RTF fields and
two image fields that you can add to the page. You have to have a field in the
content type to store the data entered into each field control in the layout
