Cannot publish error 0x80004005 unspecified error

Asked By: Viral    Date: Apr 14    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3126

I'm just setting up a Sharepoint server for the first time. It's been
working ok for a few days but all of a sudden today I'm getting this
0x800040005 unspecified error whenever I try to publish anything. It
happens on brand new documents added to the workspace as well as
older ones that have been published then checked out and checked back

I cant find any info on this on microsoft's sites.

Any one seen this before?

I've had the same problem - only that it happened after restoring a
backup in a different machine (and domain) it was previously done.

The only solution to the problem I've arrived at was to reinstall the
SPS and manually restore the workspaces (and documents)

Just IIS settings in the virtual directory which has
the same name as the workspace  name. In that check
the permissions to write.

I would recommend Kernel for SharePoint Recovery Software to repair 0x80004005 database error.
