Property-only searches with EnterpriseSearch_Advanced web part?

It seems I'm the only one using this web part....

Anyway, with the built-in search web part, you can leave the search field
blank and specify some properties like "Display Name" contains "yokel" and
"Author" contains "cowboy joe" and you get results. It even says in the
search summary 'You searched "This site" with a property-only query'. How
nice.

However, with the advanced web part I downloaded, I get

'Unable to display document list. An internal server error has
occurred.'

If I put something in the search field (say, the same thing I'm searching
for in the properties), the search list comes up.

Anyone else having the same problem? Is this a known issue for this web
part?

Were you able to sort this out? I'm getting the same error when I
search for documents modified/created in the last 7 days.

I think the basic problem with the search web part (the
EnterpriseSearch_Advanced one, the one from MS Japan) is that you can't
leave the "search for" field blank. For some reason, it requires something
in there. Maybe it's because how the code is that it adds AND, OR, Phrase,
Boolean, etc. I haven't looked at the .js code yet but I probably will in a
week or two if someone else doesn't find the answer first.

I *really* like this web part because of it's quick dropdown of
AND/OR/Phrase/Boolean. But I can't use it if it doesn't support
property-only searches.
