prompt for username and password for office document

I am facing this issue on a SP Server 2010 sites , where the users have to
enter their username and password. It's an Extranet with FBA using Active
Directory.

I have googled for this and so far seems like this a known issue. I am not
sure if SSS( Secure Store Service) configuration would help.



The other option I am thinking of using Office Web Apps.



Please let me know all the possible solutions or any pointers.
