Project Server 2003 Integration

Asked By: Beth    Date: Oct 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 876

I have recently installed Project Server 2003 and configured to
SharePoint Portal Server.

Now, I need to pull the "TASKS" from Project Server 2003 and export
the information to EVENTS in SharePoint Site. So that when the User
opens this SharePoint site, he can view the "Tasks" in "Calendar view".

Can anyone provide me any document reference or example or URLs to
achieve this.

I don't know a built-in way to achieve this but.......

You'll want to use two web services.
1) The Project server  has the ProjectData Method which will retrieve all of
the tasks (and a bunch of other stuff). PDS reference at

2) Then you will want to use lists.asmx on the Sharepoint server to
populate the "Events" List on whatever site you choose. Reference at

Project Server integrates into Windows SharePoint Services, not SharePoint Portal Server. If you want to show things the way that you're talking about them, then you'll need to do the web services bit, or be content on using crazy content editor webparts with weird domain cross authentication lacking security.

I don't have this setup, but back in the day I tested Project Server and
I thought that it actually stored the task information in a WSS list. If
that's the case, why not just create a Calendar view defined on the
actual Task list? If you need to show it somewhere else you could link
to it or use a DVWP to show it.

In other words, it's already in SharePoint, you just want to view it
somewhere other than where it is currently showing.
