Programatically Create a SharePoint Task

Asked By: Rozi    Date: Mar 05    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1971

I can programatically use InfoPath to automatically save a completed
InfoPath form to a SharePoint document library. However I am
looking to do something a little more advanced and need some help.

Once the InfoPath form is completed I would like to have a button on
the form that when pressed creates a SharePoint task (i.e., to-do)
and then attaches a copy of the form to the task. Creating tasks
programatically is possible with VBA but InfoPath only supports
VBScript and some of the components I would need are missing.

You can do this by sending a CAML request. Check the SharePoint SDK
and MSDN for more info on CAML.
