Profile import from AD

I have a MOSS 2007 environment setup and have it importing profiles from my AD
and also from the AD of another domain in our forest. I have another domain that
I need to import from but cannot seem to get the correct settings into the
setup. From DOS I can ping the PDC of the remote domain but Sharepoint keeps
telling me that the "specified directory service server is not available." I
have verified that port 389 is not being blocked on the remote server. Is there
anything else I can try?
