Problems with subscription notifications

Asked By: Leila    Date: Dec 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 693

We are having problems with subscription notifications. People who are
subscribed to notifications get notifications even if there are no changes
made to folder/documents they are subscribed too. Any ideas? Also, if
there are changes made to documents/folders they are subscribed they do not
get notified.

We had this problem as well. What's happening is that every time you run an
absolute index of Sharepoint those that have subscription  notifications
receive notifications  even though there has been no change to the contents
of the folder. The way round the problem is to run only an incremental index
against the new material on the system. We have been doing this for the past
two weeks and it seems to work.

When you refer to new material, is this the index of the workspace itself?

I find another problem with notifications. When we reboot the server
SPS sends notifications  of recent changes again.

Anyone have the same problem or a solution to it?
