Problems with SSL

Asked By: Stevie    Date: Dec 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1272

Currently, in order to make changes to any pages in our Sharepoint
sites I have to turn SSL off, make the change and then turn SSL back
on. I had successfully done this in the past with no issues but after
I did this Friday we now have a problem.

When you go to any of our Sharepoint sites and click on the linked
title to a web part from the front page it gives us an SSL required
error. I noticed that all the web part title links are just http://.
I can't remember if it was like this before or not but we've never had
any problems with this before. When I changed it back to SSL I
received a message that asked which of the child nodes I wanted to
change; it said something about AccessSSLflags.

Sounds like the site was initially setup without SSL, then it was added after
the fact. There are a coiuple thing you should be doing which will allow you to
run SSL all the time and avoid this issue:

1) Follow the instructions for the admin chapter at
2) Follow the instructions at
office.microsoft.com/.../HA011603021033.aspx and setup an
alternate access URL using https://
