Problem with new installing of Sharepoint 2003

Asked By: Jasen    Date: Jan 07    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 658

I have done my very first Sharepoint install and I get an error at the

My ISAPI connection in IIS was giving me trouble at first, but now it
is up and running. I also finished setting up my portal and all, but
when accessing it for the first time using my credentials Domain\xxxxx
and Password. I get an error message that won't allow me to get to it.

I have been looking this error message, and checked every service,
setting, IIS setting, even SQL, and everything seems to be fine. I
also added an entry on the local hosts file pointing the IP address of
the server to the address potatohead.domain.com and no luck.

Has anyone ran into that problem during the first installation? I am
testing over here, but it is consuming some of my time, considering
that I am new at using Sharepoint.

So, I ended up adding the extention default.aspx to the address and
it seems to work. I am finally in my portal for the very first time.

But if anyone could enlighten me, as to why it didn't fill that in
on its own then the address was typed, I will greatly appreciate
it. IIS has the setting to add it on its own.
