Problem with alerts

We recently noticed that we haven't been receiving alerts from our
SharePoint 2003 implementation. The first thing I did was go to check
the mail server settings for each site in Central Administration - but
I couldn't even get in to see each site's settings. On the "Virtual
Server List" page, the link to each virtual site now goes to a popup
window titled "Upgrade a server or virtual server".

We did install some updates to the server the day we stopped receiving
alerts, and among them was the SharePoint daylight savings time
update. I'm really at a loss, though, for what could be causing this
problem - and we really need to fix it! Does anyone have any ideas or

Well, to point out the obvious I'd say upgrading your site is probably the first
thing you should do. Some patches require that.

We are running MOSS 07, and I have been getting immediate alerts  for our
message board since our site went live (January 2007). Just recently,
there were 2 postings that I did not receive as well. I sent one today
and I got the alert.

We have been patching our email server for Daylight savings time. By
chance were you doing this as well?

Has anyone else experienced this?
