Problem accessing MOSS 2007 web application

I am new to MOSS 2007. I create a web application and a site in the
created web application. with port 80. but I can not access this
application ovr the intranet as well as the server where it resides. I
don't know what is happening?

what happens when you try to browse to it? sounds like a DNS problem.
if you specified a host header for the web  app you will have to make
sure DNS points the host header to the IP of your server. Try putting
an entry into the HOSTS file on the server to see if you can browse to
it locally.
