Problem accessing documents posted externally by internal users

Asked By: Mercedes Nash         Date: Nov 17, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 204

My client has a site that can be accessed from the outside where they
are posting documents to
http://mail.xxxx.com:12345/default.aspx" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://mail.xxxx.com:12345/default.aspx
Any documents created and posted from the outside, cannot be accessed
from the inside.
When an inside person tries to access a document that has been posted
from the outside, the URL changes from
https://server1:12345/sites/xxxx to
http://mail.xxxx.com:12345/default.aspx" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://mail.xxxx.com:12345/default.aspx
Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

The first thing that comes to mind is Alternate Access Mappings. Are you
100% certain they are configured correctly? What is the Default Zone
URL?
