Printing data from WSS

Asked By: Cary    Date: Oct 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1524

I've not found any info and no one seems to mention it much so I reckon it
must be pretty easy and I'm just being a n00b but...

If I have content in a WSS site list (or discussion list mostly), is there
an easy way of making the list content easily printable? A 'print me' button
attached to lists would be most useful.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated - like I say, I havent really got a
lot to go on this one.

I haven't seen a way for this. Few months back I was
also looking into similar kind of stuff and all I
heard was use the Print button on browser.

I've seen a web part made by DataLan (http://www.datalan.com) called
ListPrinter, which may be what you want. Here's their description:

The DataLan ListPrinter web part connects to any displayed list  in
SharePoint and allows for the presented list view to be printed
without the print  out including any other SharePoint elements listed
on the site  page.

No "print" button that I know of, but maybe this is what you mean(?).
I wish I had info  on pricing too, but I don't. I attended a couple
seminars by DataLan where they went over their available web parts -
several look helpful, but none are free... I can email the list of
them (8 or 9) to the group if there's interest.
