PrePopulate newform.aspx

Asked By: Marilyn Manning         Date: Mar 01, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 578

I have a following scenario to achieve:
I have a list (List 1) which has 3 columns, say, Column1, Column2,
Column3.

Column3 is a hyperlink column which targets to newform.aspx of
another list,say List 2.
I have a Choice field / Column in List 2.
The requirement is, if the user clicks Column 3 (hyperlink) of List
1, the newform.aspx of list 2 should open.
Also, the Choice Field of the newform.aspx (new form of List 2)
should be pre populated with "Column 1" values of List 1.

Is this achievable? If not, can this be done using some different
approach?
