Preconfigured Subscription

Asked By: Raghav Talwari         Date: Oct 30, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 381

I found that some of my users are not really capable of creating their own
subscriptions (they are VERY non technical!!! :-)). So I want to prepare a
subscription for them and assign each user a personal subscription, so that they
don't have to do anything. Can this be done??? I have nothing found yet about
this.

We created an NT Account dedicated to just setting up "Corporate
Notifications". Basically we logged in as this account and setup
subscriptions to the various items (docs, cats, folders) and used the SMTP
address of a Distribution List. Unfortunatley, this doesn't translate into
individual Subscriptions that the users  can manage themselves but at least
is a way to notify them of changes without makeing them sign up. If you
REALLY want to preconfigure subscriptions, you will probably need to do this
programmatically.
