PowerPoint in Shared Documents

Has anyone ever had that problem when opening a .ppt in a shared
Document Library drop down list ("Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint")
that it opens up a blank document? Conversely, when you right click
and say open in new window, the presentation comes up. Help, it's
happening on a VP's PC.

yeah it happens on office xp or old office versions but in office 2003 it
doesnt, may be the first time it does
