My users want to open PowerPoint files in EDIT mode from SHAREPOINT in their
native application.
There are many articles which describe modification of File Types in Windows
Explorer. However PPTs are different; they act differenct than Word and
Excel.
We are using Office 2000 and NOT XP.
I found a Q article (Q299824) which involves editing the registry. I
followed the Q article, and from SPS, ppts will open in their native
application....which is great. HOWEVER, the SPS File options (CHECK IN,
CHECK OUT, PUBLISH) are grayed out. I expect CHECK IN and PUBLISH to be
grayed but not CHECK OUT. CHECK OUT should be available...just like in
Word. I am almost there in solving this problem. Can anyone please help
from here?
