We have a requirement to publish News articles from Word 2007 to MOSS 2007
and then they would be displayed on different pages based upon the metadata
provided along with the documents. We need to display the articles
selectively to the users based upon their subscription.
Here is what I am thinking:
. Have meta-data as custom columns in the document library and
promote them when the document is uploaded.
. Create an event handler that would parse the word document for
images, description etc and store them in SharePoint so that the query is
faster when the content is rendered on public pages.
. The event handler would mark the document access based upon the
subscription so that the document only show up in search results if you have
subscription to the documents.
I am sure this can be done better.
