Post SP1 Content Deployment issue: ContentDeploymentJobDefinition already exists

Asked By: Emanuel    Date: Feb 20    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1568

All the "Full" deployments (for each site collection) on the authoring server failed last night with the following error:

Content deployment job 'Full' failed. The remote Web service request failed with this message: 'An object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Administration.ContentDeploymentJobDefinition named "ContentDeploymentJobDefinition: Remote import job for job with sourceID = f3fa7bac-f7f2-403b-bec9-22d32d5196ed" already exists under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWebService named "WSS_Administration". Rename your object or delete the existing object.'; Details: '<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/CmsPublishing/soap/">An object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Administration.ContentDeploymentJobDefinition named "ContentDeploymentJobDefinition: Remote import job for job with sourceID = f3fa7bac-f7f2-403b-bec9-22d32d5196ed" already exists under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWebService named "WSS_Administration". Rename your object or delete the existing object.</errorstring></detail>'.

This is a post-SP1 server... any ideas? It's never fun recreating the Path/Job all over again - I may even try installing "KB950279" in case it helps.

There is now a post-SP1 content  deployment QFE available from CSS that addresses over 60 content deployment  bugs and consists of the following two updates:

KB 952698 (WSS), and 952704 (MOSS)

The articles may not be available online.
