Is it possible to make the News Area Web Part Collapsible ... or

I need to aggregate the news from different aub-areas on the front page
of the parent area. The news area web part does the job; but...
- it does not allow me to collapse by area to create a shorter list
- it does not allow me to create a view to show items only within the
last week.
- it does not allow me to use FrontPage to create a dataview to
accomplish any of the above.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I might accomplish my goal with
another list-type web part or by altering the news area web part?

Grouped Listings Web Part? It may do the same as the Web Part you are
using. I don't use Portal much.

but the Grouped Listings web  part works exactly the
same as the News area  Web Part. They are aggregates of the portal
listings or portal sub areas and I do not see how I might access the
listings through FrontPage to design a data view  with collapsible
formatting.

So, if anyone has another way to aggregate portal listings from
different areas or other types of listings from multiple areas of
the portal, I would love the hear.

There are no other built-in rollup options and few other rollup options
in general:

-Third party web  Parts like CorasWorks (I haven't tried this):

-Community Web Parts like csegRollUp (I haven't tried this):

-Hosted Solutions (I haven't tried this):

-DVWP that displays the results of a custom Web Service that queries the
API or SharePoint Web Services

-Custom Web part  that displays the results of queries to the API or
SharePoint Web Services

Anyone seen other rollup options?
