Porting Sites/Areas to a second Environment

Asked By: Kelsey Benton         Date: Sep 08, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 205

Does anyone have any good documentation on porting sites/areas to
different environments. We want to create sites and areas on a
development box and allow our testers to run a script or something
like that to bring the same environment over to test.

There was a recent article on MSD2D.COM in the SharePoint section on
migrating sites  from one server to another using both FrontPage and the
SMIGRATE.EXE tool (don't remember the name exactly). This should suffice
for sites for you but not sure about areas.
