Populating SPS user profiles with MS ADAM

I know there is no ITB SPS 2003 support for MS ADAM. I understand that.

However, specifically wrt to *populating user profiles*, is there any sort
of workaround or hack (no matter how crude) that allow the SPS 2003 user
profile database to be populated with data from an appropriately populated
MS ADAM directory?
