Picture Galleries losing links

I've run into this problem several times ... I do several things when I
create and add a picture gallery to my site: I change the view, change
the name, and change the columns that appear. Sometimes it works great;
other times when I click the thumbnail and it should go to the edit
picture page it comes back with a link cannot be found error. Anyone
have any ideas?

OK now I'm not even doing anything but adding the gallery to a page and
then adding a picture and I get Error:

Item does not exist

The page you selected contains an item that does not exist. It may have
been deleted by another user. Click "Home" at the top of the page to
return to your Web site.

OK ... The same gallery works if its on a different page, but not if its
on a page that already has a gallery. WTF?
