Person or Group selecion does not work in Edit in Datasheet mode

When I define a custom field with a Person or Group and I limit it to
a certain Sharepoint group the limitation does not seem to work in
"Edit in datasheet mode". When I do "Edit properties" and then click
on the people selector I do see the group and people.

Any idea?
