Permissions Issues on VM

Asked By: Korey Monroe         Date: Jul 22, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 181

The CQWP that works perfect for me with my access breaks on other
users.

This sharepoint deployment is running as a single server on vmware. I
just imported the Profiles from AD, and given the global
account "domain users" reader access to everything in moss.

I've given some users specifically FULL access, and the wCQWP still
breaks on them.

Where I see a perfect webpart, my neighbor only sees instead:

"Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open
this Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor
such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists,
contact your Web server administrator."

Is this a VM thing? whats going on?

What type of source data are you accessing with the CQWP and where is it
in relation to the web  part?

ok, so this was definately an "ID TEN T" error (ID10T). I forgot to
check-in and publish ItemStyle.xsl in sharepoint  designer. This
fixed the problem.

What was wierd, is this would intermittently work for some people,
and not for others... the errors were not consistent.

That behavior might be explained if some users  were approvers (and could
see your changes prior to publishing) and others were not...
