OOTB, SPS search does all searches  as a boolean  OR. It is possible to do AND
searching, but it requires you to create a customized search control/page/web
part.

Coveo Enterprise Search for SharePoint SPS and WSS offers full
Boolean, parenthetical, near, etc and about 50 other advanced features.
Coveo is very reasonably priced.

You can check the following product, it does exactly what you want and
many more. It just work as an add-in to sharepoint and expose web part
for search dialog and results.

Actually you can do an AND search out of the box without any form of
customizations. It's just very cryptic and non-intuitive (as I explained
at my Tech Ed SharePoint Search presentation last week).

What you need to do is go to Advanced Search and do a property only
search on the property called "About Me"! Try it - you'll be amazed :-)

Why does this work? Well the "About Me" property is the display name for
the property called urn:schemas.microsoft.com:fulltextqueryinfo:content.
Most items in the index will have this filled with someone relevant to
the type of item in question. So for documents it's the body, for people
items its the About Me field from the profile etc.

Unfortunately there is only one definition of a property and the People
content source obviously got there first!

you can customize it to do what you want and the gotdotnet
community tools are also very good
(www.gotdotnet.com/.../details.aspx?sampleguid=
ec88db5d-3ebd-4aa0-aaa5-01a10338d800).

Finally there is also a company called ontolica that sells such
functionality as a product. (see www.ontolica.com )
