Performance Point in MOSS 2007

Asked By: Sherri    Date: Jan 23    Category: MOSS    Views: 832

I read somewhere that Performance Point Server is now included in MOSS 2007 Enterprise - is this true?

If so, is there a service pack for those of us that had MOSS 2007 Enterprise before it was combined - how do we get it?

It is not true.

All that has changed is the licensing. You are now allowed to use the PerformancePoint Server 2007 product if you own a license for MOSS 2007 Enterprise.

MOSS 2007 still does not contain Performance Point Server. PerformancePoint Server is still a separate product (and still has - because of that - its own forums).

MS have publicly said (several months ago, when changing the licensing) that *certain functions* that are at present in the PerformancePoint Server product will be included in the next version of SharePoint (SharePoint 2010).

Yes, your understanding is correct. PerformancePoint Services (Monitoring Pillar of current version) will be part of SharePoint 2010 and customer will be enabling at site collection or site level.
