Are per-user quotas possible in 2010?

Are per-user quotas possible in 2010? We have some "vip" users, who ideally...
we would like to give more My Site space to... and genpop who would get
substantially less. In 2007, I suppose this could be done if you "Enable My Site
to support global deployments" and host My Site on different Shared Service

I can't think of an easy way that you could setup default quotas  so when a
user creates a mysite they would get a different quota based on who they
are. But you always have the ability to go into an existing MySite in
Central administration and change the quota for a particular mysite to
another quota or to a completely personal one. Depending on how many VIPs
you have this might not be a major maintenance problem.

I figured as much, thanks. I'm managing the user's My Site... but I do not see
any place where I'm able to change or specify the quota. I'm in View User
Profiles > (Find user whose "Account name" > starts with: domain\user) > Right
click and Manage Personal Site. I'm doing it wrong?

No sooner than when I sent this e-mail out did I realize I was checking out the
2007 production farm and not my 2010 test lab.

Quotas are set for individual Site Collections from the Configure Quotas and
Locks link under Application management in Central Administration. This
works for either 2007 or 2010 by the way. Just pick the site collection and
you can either select a different pre-defined quota or specify specific
limits for just this site collection.
