Anyone know how I use PLEX.exe in the SUPPORT/TOOLS folder on the SPS
CD? I thought I could use it to change the way SPS formats my email
notifications (for example, instead of generating an HTTP message
email, I can choose to generate a simpletext email). If that is not
true, what can I do to format/customize my email messages for
notification and pending approvals?

Plex is the older of 2 tools to look into the Web Storage System.
Exchange Explorer is the newest tool and should be used instead. That
said there appears to be a bug when using Exchange Explorer and IE 6.
Some have stated it is fixed in the newest release and you might be
forced into using Plex.

To use plex or EE, simply put in the http://<your <http://%3cyour/>
server> and either 1) public or 2)Sharepoint Portal Server. You should
now be able to browse and look/change metadata. I do not know if there
is any way to change  how SPS sends email  notifications. I would assume
that is not kept in SPS therefore not modifiable via plex. The
text/template of the email might be in the WSS under the workspace
system folder  , can not remember off hand.
