People search scope question

We've just (finally) gotten all the pieces together to enable My
Site/detailed user profile functionality. Pulling info from AD, and
everything is working fine. Question now is about the indexed fields
that show up hyperlinked to search results in the user's My Site/profile
page, details section. These automatically generated hyperlinks
reference a search results page
company/.../PeopleResults.aspx?k=Department" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">company/.../PeopleResults.aspx?k=Department:[parameter
<company/.../PeopleResults.aspx?k=Department" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">company/.../PeopleResults.aspx?k=Department:%5bparamete
r> ]". Important to note there is that the search site in the URL is
"search." However, our search site URL is "searchcenter" so all those
profile details hyperlinks result in page not found errors. Looking at
the search settings in SSP, the people search scope target results page
is listed as "peopleresults.aspx" and using the people search from the
standard portal page search field works just fine.

So where/how do I change the configuration so that user profile details
links to point to the correct search center URL?

Found it! Preferred search Center in the My Site settings. So I made
the change there but the links are still wrong in my existing My
Site. Anyone know what it will take to reset these? Does the change
apply to existing My Sites or only newly generated ones? Do I have to
wait for a full/incremental user profile update and/or search crawl?
